Life Is An On Going Lesson

Kait is my name, short for Kaitlyn.  People have often said I am an old soul, meaning I'm wise for my age, as though I see things a different way than others my age do. I believe that’s true. I take things into consideration more so than others would. I over think and I appreciate the little things in life. Maybe its because of the things I’ve gone through, maybe it because of things that are going to happen in my life, or maybe even because of the things that are currently going on right now. Being an art freak that’s where I peak. Many times in life I've been told that art is your obsession not your profession, but soon after hearing this many times I've started to realize that everything in life is art. From words to pictures to movies to schedules. Everything in life is a piece of art with a beginning idea/thought that ends in either a master piece or a lesson learned. I'm athletic, out going and determined. I may not be the smartest person alive, but I sure as heck try my hardest in everything I want to accomplish. The name Kait means pure. This is one thing I live my life trying to be. I know people cant be perfect, or flawless. One thing I have never heard someone say is you cannot be pure. Pure can often be described as free, clear and simple. I perspire to be pure, I long to be free from the worlds negativity, to have clear open minded thoughts and to be simple in a way that means I am not just stuck in one spot in my life. I am simple in a way that I can expand my views, change my thoughts and simply find happiness in new things. To explore the simplicity life has to offer me through many different ways. I wish to be pure. I believe that everything in life happens for a reason, the good and the bad. That is the greatest lesson I have ever learnt in life. It is the greatest thing I will be able to teach all of you. Life is an on going lesson, we learn from it in every way. Throughout the video I previously watched on youtube called  “The key to success – grit” By Angela Lee Duckworth, showed a very interesting view on how not only the people with the "smarts" were successful but how the people with determination or grit could be successful too. This whole video was about the mind set people had when it came to learning or doing new things that would lead to success.  The video tells us “The characteristic that stands out that is most likely to lead to success is grit (passion and perserverance for long term goals). Grit is sticking with your future for long term, and working really hard to make that future a reality.”  This not only applies to children in school, but everyone in their day to day lives. Growth mindset is a very simple idea. The idea is that your ability to learn is not fixed it can change with your effort. Growth mind set gives you grit. It teaches us that we can fail but that we must also get back up and try it again, we must not give up. Motivation isn’t grit. Wanting more and aiming for more is grit. You cant teach grit, you just have to want it for yourself. I agree with this video completely. And I am also a firm believer that it takes grit to reach your goals not motivation or being the smart one in your class. Try hard, as hard as you can and you will succeed.

  1. Okay Miss Kait, we are all caught-up as of today. You've got some great energy in this posting but...you need to be far more concise. A blog post needs to be readable quickly. Make your point.
I love that you see "art" in everything, and I know that you're a hard worker.
